Chicago Auto Show '05

The Saturn Performance Club got together for the weekend of February 18, 2005, to attend the Chicago Auto Show, race slot cars, see a movie, and scope out Autobahn Country Club (for upcoming 2005 Rally planning).  Photos can be seen from previous auto show weekend activities in the archives section.

Attendees for this weekend's activities included Deebs, Tapp, Lane, Kevin K, Matt B & his cousin, Christena S & Adrian, Tom U, Doug, Francine, and a buddy of theirs.  Members from 6 states (WI, KY, KS, OH, IL, MO) made the effort to drive to Chicago to get together for the weekend.

Most of us arrived on Friday night and gathered at Hollywood Boulevard in Woodridge IL for dinner and a movie.  This is an awesome concept - it's a theater with a bar and restaraunt.  You're served and are able to eat while you're watching the movie, as there are tables in the theater itself and plenty of space.

The group split up and saw two movies - Constantine, and Son of the Mask.  I chose Constantine and really liked it.  You can get more info on this movie HERE.

After the movie, it was back to the hotel for a good night's sleep.

On Saturday morning, we all loaded into Kevin's van and Doug's car and made our way downtown to the show, which was being held at McCormick Place.

Here's the new Ford Mustang.  Ford had a whole bunch of them at the show in different levels of trim with different paint schemes.  They looked sharp.

This Volkswagen Beetle had a chopped top.  It turned the car's looks from cute to killer.

This new Chevrolet has a somewhat retro look, and was done up by West Coast Customs.  The look of the exterior and the audio/video system were all elaborately done.
